Camp Roberts Historical Museum

Location and Contact Information

LOCATION:   Camp Roberts, CA on US 101 about 12 miles north of Paso Robles or half way between San Francisco and Los Angeles.  The Museum is on Camp Roberts--the main training and pre-mobilization site for all of the California National Guard.  Camp Roberts is located just 12 miles north of the California town of Paso Robles (half-way between Los Angeles and San Francisco) on Highway 101, and there is a dedicated off-ramp (Exit 244) that leads right into Camp Roberts’ Main Gate.

Persons who do not possess a military identification card must check in at the Military Police station on the right before proceeding past the checkpoint.  When you sign in at the MP station, you will be given a visitors pass to show the guard.

As you proceed past the guardhouse, you will keep to the right at the “Y” intersection.  You will then veer to the left and proceed west on New Mexico Avenue.  You will then see the Museum Annex, with tanks and other track vehicles on display out in front, on your left.  You will then see the athletic field on your left.  Continue west until you see the large Sports Arena (gymnasium) on your left.  Just after that, you will arrive at the Main Museum, which will be on your right.
